FAQs

What type of materials are used to make the bobble?

The bobble Insulate is made from stainless steel. The cap is made from a compound of polypropylene and thermo-plastic elastomer. The neck is made from silicon.

The bobble Infuse is made from Tritan® and is BPA-Free. The mouthpiece and the filter housing are made from polyethylene and are BPA-Free. The carrying cap is made from thermo-plastic elastomer and is BPA-Free.

The Bobble Classic is made from FDA compliant polyethylene terephthalate, or PET, that is free of BPA and phthalates.

The bobble Sport is made from DBA compliant polypropylene, or PP, that is free of BPA and phthalates.

The filter housing and mouth piece are made from polyethylene, or PE, that is free of BPA and phthalates.

Are the materials used for the bottles safe?

The entire bobble range is subject to a safety policy where the raw materials are subject to a rigorous selection process that includes the carrying out of extensive regulation and authenticity testing subject to USA and EU standards.
We not only test for the presence of specific chemical products in all bobble materials but also ensure that these chemical products do not leach from the bottle into the water.

Is the bobble Dishwasher safe?

The bobble Insulate and its cap are dishwasher safe. However, we recommend that they be washed by hand to preserve the colour of the exterior.

The bobble Infuse - both the bottle and its cap - are dishwasher safe.

Only the body of the bobble Sport is dishwasher safe.

The Bobble Classic should be washed by hand.

Where is the bobble manufactured?

The bobble Insulate is made in China and was designed in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.

The bobble Infuse, Classic and Sport are all made in Lima, Ohio, USA.

How often should I change the filter?

We recommend changing the filter after two months of use or after the filtering of 150 litres of water with your bobble. As there is no easy way of knowing, when the filter is coming to the end of its useful life, you may note that the water is no longer as fresh and clear as usual.

With the bobble Infuse you can use the calendar ring at bottom of the filter cage.

How does the filter work?

The bobble uses an active carbon filter. Active carbon is a proven chemical absorbent. As the water passes over the surface of the positive charge of the carbon filter, the negative ions of certain chemical products are drawn towards the surface of the carbon granules where they remain. The bobble filter removes the taste and odour of chlorine from tap-water and results in a fresher taste.

Note: Do not use where water is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality. Bobble's filters reduce odor and chlorine from regular municipal tap water only.

How should I use the Bobble Classic, Sport and Infuse?

Before drinking from your bobble, remove the filter and fill it with water. Replace the filter and gently squeeze contents of bottle through the filter. The water may look temporarily dark as any loose carbon is removed. The activated carbon filter requires no maintenance thereafter.

What should I do when my bobble is coming to the end of its useful life?

The PET used for the manufacture of the Bobble Classic is easy to recycle as the majority of recycling centres accept this type of material.
The PP used for the manufacture of the bobble Sport is recyclable at local recycling centres.

The body of the filter and the mouthpiece made from PE (polyethylene) are recyclable on specific sites. Check with your local recycling centre. The components of the filter do not show the symbol for their material given their size. The carbon filter cannot be dismantled and is not recyclable. Please dispose of it in the rubbish.

How long is the useful life of the bottle?

While the filter has a life of some 2 months or 150 litres, the bottle may be used for as long as you like.

How should I take care of my bobble and its filter?

The bobble, together with its mouthpiece and filter holder, should be washed regularly. Just remove the filter and mouthpiece from your bottle and wash by hand in warm, soapy water.

Can the bobble be used without the filter?

The bobble Infuse and the Insulate are the only ones that can be used without filter.

What is the effect of high temperatures on the Bobble Classic, Sport and Infuse? Is it safe to leave the bobble in the car exposed to high temperatures?

Exposing the Bobble to high temperatures, such a locked vehicle under direct sunlight, is not recommended.

What is the effect of low temperatures on the bobble Classic, Sport and Infuse? Is it safe to put them in the freezer?

Subjecting the bobble or the carbon filter to freezing temperatures is not recommended although you may put the bobble in the fridge.

Can I use flavour packs in the bobble Classic and Sport?

The bobble was designed to remove the chlorine from municipal tap water only. Drinks other than water should not be used with the carbon filter. For infusions and flavour packs we recommend the use of the bobble Infuse without the carbon filter.
